The original is definitely their most successful game and despite the mixed response to AMFP it's a pretty solid brand. I appreciate your critique and I don't think it's wrong, I think you're just a bit harsh and it's just a tad disappointing to me I guess.Īpparently they're working on two different games currently, I think it's plausible they might go back to the Amnesia well one more time. Outlast really is worth playing and one of the best horror games I have ever played, but it's still unable to hold the candle for Amnesia in my opinion. I am still confused about why you would ever call Outlast an independent production but Amnesia not, besides all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t they've come up with on ♥♥♥♥ing youtube admittedly. But I think I knew what I was purchasing and I prefer MFP to the first game, even though or precisely because it is more narration focused, and a surely a disappointment to all "gamers". Personally I was not disappointed with the second Amnesia game at all besides assets being reused. It is quite saddening indeed and doesn't make me eager to ever play SOMA. Also I actually had never heared about "The Soma Transmission" before or I had already suppressed it until now, and that filth has really blown my mind in a bad way. Woah, Throttle back there little Munchkin, what are you Eight years old?.Wow!Ī prototype is a prototype and of course it is teasing, but I am not trying to excuse them because it is truely Ubisoftesque if that is the right term. Originally posted by odoscoldbeak:Filthy Peasant. Is there anything else you are confused about? Sure it is a work of love that has many elements the fans wish to see but it feels strangely "Empty" as it's own entity. I am on The Evil Within right now and although I am only at the half way point I am finding it to be at good or bad. So yes I "Jumped Ship" to the independents Including Outlast, Layers of Fear, and Stay Close to name a few. It didnt help Frictional Games that This was the Second time thay had done this to their customers after Amnesia 2 (a game I absolutly LOVE) but again not what people were lead to believe. Firstly there was the Initial Demo that was completely unrepresentetive of the final product and Secondly Frictional Blew their budget on "The SOMA Transmitions" The Mini SciFi Horror Series, and again, this was completely unrepresentetive of the final game. Woah, Throttle back there little Munchkin, what are you Eight years old?.Wow!ĭid you miss the part about me Liking SOMA a great deal while your fuse was blowing? The Fact remains that SOMA, Good or Bad, is not the game the Frictional Lead us all to believe it was. Until then you're dismissed.įilthy Peasant. Maybe I'll give a better answer one day when I get to play the drama on my own. You're invited to tell me what I have missed. Also I don't really know about Resident Evil 2, cause the series has never been scary, and The Evil Within is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ as well, so that's when you disqualified. When I think of FNAF and other "independent" projects I think a truely sinister future is upon us. Your comment was interesting to read though and I still haven't been able to play SOMA myself to confirm it, but probably you just didn't get the point and didn't want to get touched and feel scared at all? Maybe you don't like criticism?! I don't really care about mods, because I was already fully satisified with the storyline of the Amnesia games and I have yet to look for the mod that grabs my attention, although the option is always more than welcome of course. I sincerely hope and think they won't be quitting any time soon. You "jumped ship"? Why? Is it sinking?! SOMA was the most commercially succesful title they've published so far as far as I know. Really looking forwar to the Fan Made version of Resident Evil 2 next year and of course The Evil Within was a Classic The True Horror games will survive through the Independent Projects as they are made by fans not corperate "Suits" and that can only be good. Frictional are now complaining about the lack of interest in MOD's. Robots who refuse to believe they are Robots reminded me of Marvin tha Paranoid Android. I really like SOMA for what it is and I do think that the Comedy was perhaps unintentional (Robot bashes head with metal claw with a loud CLUNK while saying "Cant you see I'm Human?" for example). In fact I jumped ship to Outlast and other Independent Producers after the Resident Evil Series went all Rambo.
